Authority downplays Boeing safety hazard
Posted On 03/20/2010 02:54:50

China's aviation watchdog Thursday moved to allay fears about safety on Boeing 737 aircraft, saying an emergency inspection directive issued this week was simply "routine," after an isolated incident involving the reputable jetliner in Europe earlier this month. The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) ordered domestic airlines to inspect a mechanism that controls tail flaps on 160 Boeing 737 aircraft, days after the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued an emergency airworthiness directive demanding airlines do so for safety reasons. The watchdog said in a statement on its website (caac.gov.cn) that a similar directive issued March 15 was part of the CAAC's daily safety management routine and that between 1986 to 2009 as many as 6,502 such directives were issued for civilian aircraft registered in China. The directive could World of warcraft gold, mean a compulsory inspection, a corrective measure or restriction on use of the aircraft if it is not in a reliable condition. The CAAC has ordered domestic World of warcraft gold airlines to perform a detailed inspection of Boeing 737-600, 700, 800, 900 and 900ER models to ensure normal flight operations and safety. The inspection results must be submitted to Boeing within 10 days of the directive. Ding Ling, a staff member with the CAAC, told the Global Times that so far the administration has not re-ceived reports of any faults with the Boeing 737s. On March 12, the FAA ordered maple story mesos, airlines to check some 600 Boeing 737s for loose elevator tabs caused by fractured mounting lugs that help control the tail flaps. The maple story mesos directive concerns flaps on the horizontal tails of the jets, according to the Associated Press. Media reports said that on March 2, a Boeing 737-800 jetliner operated by Ryanair, an Irish low-fare airline, malfunctioned in flight. The plane experienced severe vibrations en route from the Netherlands to Madrid, Spain and was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Belgium. The ensuing investigation wow gold, found "extensive damage" to the left elevator, a movable flap on the horizontal tail that controls the pitch of the airplane, up or down, the AP reported. A leading specialist assigned wow gold to check the Boeing 737s in Beijing declined to give his name, but said the safety hazard warning from Boeing was one of numerous regular notices issued by the manufacturer and passengers need not be concerned. "Domestic airlines have already started their inspection, and the issue is not as serious as some expected," he said. The CAAC's statement contradicted a National Business Daily (NBD) report, which said, citing an unnamed CAAC official, that the problem was a "potential safety hazard." The report said any domestic world of warcraft gold airline that does not fully carry out the inspection will be prohibited from taking off. The Boeing 737 series is one of the most world of warcraft gold popular in China. The NBD report said over 600 Boeing 737s were currently in use on the Chinese mainland. Boeing supports the CACC's rule and is committed to the safe operation of its airplanes, and is working with the FAA and its airline customers to assure compliance with this rule, Boeing said in a statement to the Global Times. Wang Yukui, spokesperson of Boeing China, told the Global Times that the directive was triggered by the incident involving the Boeing 737-800 in Europe earlier this month. "This is only an individual case. In order to prevent similar accidents from happening elsewhere, Boeing issued the maintenance notice to all its clients on March 10," he said. "This shows the importance with which the CAAC regards the incident and its commitment to guarantee the safe operation of its airlines," Wang said, adding "no airplanes will be allowed to take off if only a tiny safety hazard is found." China's three major world of warcraft power leveling, airlines - Air China, China Eastern and China Southern – all have Boeing 737s in service. An official with Air China, who declined to be named, told the Global Times that the company has received notices from both Boeing and the CAAC and an inspection is under way. "So far, no problems have been world of warcraft power leveling discovered on any of our Boeing 737 airplanes," the official said. Tan Wangeng, general manager of China Southern Airlines, told the Legal Mirror that it has already conducted inspections on its two Boeing 737 planes. "No defects have been found from the inspection," he said. Song Bufu, a 31-year-old regular air traveler, told the Global Times that he would avoid using Boeing 737s for the time being. "I'd rather book to fly on an Airbus or another Boeing model. I think it's quite normal for passengers to have this kind of reaction to such news," he said. Globally, the Boeing 737 family is the best-selling commercial jet in history, and more than 7,000 orders have been placed, according to the company's official website. There have been two major crashes involving Boeing 737s in China. In 1992, a China Southern Boeing 737-300 aircraft crashed, killing all eight crew members and 133 passengers. In 1997, the same model with the same airline crashed, killing two of the nine crew, and 33 of the 65 passengers.

SOEs barred from realty
Posted On 03/20/2010 02:53:05

More than 70 State-owned enterprises will be withdrawn from the real estate sector once their current development projects are complete, China's State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Com-mission said Thursday. The latest attempt to cool the red-hot real estate sector would be of little use, analysts say. The super-wealthy centrally administered enterprises are blamed for a land-acquisition frenzy that is seen as having further pushed up soaring housing prices. The latest such lavish purchases were made in Beijing at a record price of around 11 billion yuan ($1.6 billion) by three State enterprises Monday, a day after Chinese lawmakers closed their annual assembly, which intensively discussed how to contain property prices. One tract of the land, located in Wangjing, inside the northeast fifth ring road, sold for 27,000 yuan ($3,970) per square meter, even higher than the price of finished apartments in the area. It reportedly instantly drove up the resale prices of homes nearby. Average wage earners in the nation complain that home prices have been rising out of their reach, despite a set of government policies meant to rein in speculation and asset bubbles. The National Bureau of Statistics said housing prices increased by 10.7 percent last month from a year earlier. Without specifying a date, the commission, the governing body of more than 100 enterprises run by the central government, said 78 state companies, whose main wow power leveling businesses were not property development, will be put under "adjustment and restructuring as soon as projects including developments on land in their possession and on existing commercial developments are complete," said commission spokesman Du Yuanquan at a press conference Thursday. A total of 16 enterprises approved by wow power leveling the commission in 2003 to mainly operate in the real estate sector, will remain in the business, Du said. The 16 companies' net profit was 18.8 billion yuan in 2009, accounting for 94 percent of the real estate earnings of all central government enterprises. Property sales Wow gold, by State-owned enterprises last year totaled 220 billion yuan, accounting for 5 percent of the national total, while the total area of property sold by those enterprises was 28 million square meters, 3 percent of the entire commercial space Wow gold sold in China, the commission said in an online statement. The commission declined to give details on the fate of the 78 outgoing companies, whose contribution to net profits of all State property developers was only 4 percent. In a new regulation passed last week, the Ministry of Land and Resources demands developers pay a 50 percent down payment on land acquisitions within a month of signing the contract. To participate in auctions, buyers are also ordered to pay a deposit that equals 20 percent of the minimum price for the land. Wang Zhongfu world of warcraft gold, of the Central University of Finance and Economics, said the withdrawal of State-owned enterprises wouldn't help to trim prices. "It doesn't stop the remaining world of warcraft gold firms from spending hugely on land. Instead, it only leads to the concentration of capital, making them even richer," Wang said, urging such property developers to commit to offering more affordable housing rather than cashing in. Liu Weixin, of the China Society of Urban Economy, said a large proportion of the 4-trillion-yuan government stimulus investment went to State-owned enterprises, many of which poured the money back into the property market. "Speculation in the real estate market with stimulus money is detrimental to the development of the sector," Liu said. "These large enterprises would corner their privately owned counterparts, which make up 70 to 80 percent of property developers." Revenue from land wow cd keys, sales is a major source of local government fiscal income and developers prefer to construct large-sized residential apartments as well as high-end realty projects wow cd keys in a bid for greater profit, Liu noted. That view was echoed by Yin Kunhua, president of the Shanghai Real Estate Management Institute, who called on Stated-owned enterprises not to enter into sectors that require full market competition. "Some SOEs grabbed enormous profits in the property sector because their official background makes it much easier for them to obtain land wow power leveling, and credit," Yin said. A rise in property prices has fueled wow power leveling concerns that an asset bubble is building that could eventually burst and hurt the wider economy. Governments unveiled a series of measures to dampen the overheated property market, including re-imposing a sales tax on homes sold wow gold, within five years of their purchase and raising the down payment for a second house or more with bank loans. Beijing Municipal Government said it will allot wow gold at least 25 million square meters of land for housing, half of which will be used for affordable housing The People's Bank of China, the central bank, raised the deposit reserve requirement ratio in January, and in February.

Time for Shanghai Expo to take it easy
Posted On 03/20/2010 02:52:01

With 45 days to go before the opening of World Expo 2010, Shanghai is gearing up enthusiastically for its final preparations to make a big impression on the world stage. Yet now should also be the time for Shanghai, and China at large, to take it easy. Everything does not have to be perfect at the Shanghai Expo. After all, as 159 years of tradition indicate, the Expo is merely a big global party for people to enjoy the fun brought by modern civilization. By taking it easy, the Shanghai Expo, featuring wow power leveling, a focus on urban life, can also stick to its dynamic theme of "Better City, Better Life." While urbanization can be a double-edged sword, it is the leisure, conveniences wow power leveling and, above all, fun aspects of modern urban life that should be highlighted. It is quite understandable that China has gone all out to make the Shanghai Expo a world-class event. Given the national pride wow cd keys, it is evoking and the international spotlight it is drawing, the Expo has taken on many political, economic, cultural and societal implications: It is supposed to revitalize the economy, to improve the environment, wow cd keys to enhance citizens' civility, to display progress, to boost the city's and the country's image, and so on. But for a global party like this, those important missions are just too heavy. China's capability of hosting a massive wow power leveling event has been proved numerous times, with the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games being the greatest example. Also evident is its rising clout after taking the lead to pull the global economy out of its slump during wow power leveling the financial crisis. Now, all the Shanghai Expo needs to go out for is a fun, easygoing time. All previous Expos World of Warcraft power leveling, that have achieved great success took the same approach. The 1893 Chicago Expo captured the spirit of its times by introducing the "Midway Plaisance" and adding World of Warcraft power leveling entertaining elements to the Expo. Over a century later, wow gold, a multifunctional theme park was built for the 2008 Zaragoza Expo in Spain, making it "the biggest water festival on Earth." The reason was simple: To make the Expo as much fun as possible and woo more wow gold visitors. There is no doubt that the Shanghai Expo, which is expected to showcase more than 200 countries, regions and international organizations and attract 70 million visitors, will make a mark in history. The key difference World of Warcraft gold, between the Expo and various other trade shows World of Warcraft gold is that the Expo is supposed to be fun and attract the participation of ordinary people. How well it meets those goals will be the measure of its success. As the birthplace of China's urban entertainment, the bustling metropolis of Shanghai is capable of hosting an Expo that will be colorful, exciting and full of fun. So, let's take it easy.

Adapting to global clock in US interests
Posted On 03/20/2010 02:47:23

The world's clock has sped up: Nations around the globe are reinventing themselves at a faster and faster pace. Unfortunately, some US politicians are still operating on their own time frame – and they have fallen behind. The latest example is that they are calling for the Obama administration to label China a currency manipulator. There is also a bill being considered in the US Senate that would seek to penalize China over the yuan. These politicians world of warcraft power leveling are behind the times. They have been unable to keep up with the rapidly changing global reality. Historically, anytime there was a trade imbalance or economic downturn, world of warcraft power leveling some US politicians sought to blame others for the failings of the US government. Back in the mid-1980s, wow Power Leveling, the Plaza Accord, signed between Japan and the US to placate the latter's complaints about the trade deficit, forced the Japanese yen to wow Power Leveling appreciate sharply. That sent Japan's economy into a backward spin for decades. In the 1970s, the Deutsche Mark was also pushed to appreciate. But gone are wow gold, the days when US policy hardball could force others to yield. Ironically, the measures taken wow gold by the US in these historical incidents are still hailed as the right alternatives to adopt "if sweet reason won't work," as the New York Times columnist Paul Krugman put it in his recent article titled "Taking on China." Should those wow power leveling US politicians or scholars continue to live in their illusions of past glory, they will not be helping to solve any issue wow power leveling, between China and the US, nor will they be acting in the interests of the American people. Some basic realities need to be faced: The world has become a multilateral, globalized place where only cooperation and negotiation can get things done. Though it remains the sole superpower, the US should learn to respect other nations as equals and understand the real meaning of "We are all in the same boat." With that scenario wow gold, in mind, even if the US government does label China a currency manipulator, China does not need to dump a share of its US Treasury holdings for revenge, as expected by Krugman. Sino-US ties are so closely intertwined wow gold that any trade war would be a loss for both sides, particularly victimizing the American people and US enterprises. After all, it is the negotiating table, not a game of hardball, that will bring progress. The power of the US pressure should not be overestimated. With the world's clock ticking, what some US politicians need to do is to put their own economic house in order and to get synchronized with the rest of the world.

Don't let US yuan squeeze strangle Chinese jobs
Posted On 03/20/2010 02:44:56

Employment is not just an American issue. The Chinese government has gone all out to boost domestic employment, too. This is a reality that some US politicians fail to acknowledge while pushing China on the yuan in an attempt to solve their prickly unemployment problem at home. The pace of the yuan's appreciation has always been carefully calculated by China, so that its potential impact on domestic employment can be minimized. The latest example is the numerous field trips to coastal areas in February and in March made by government-sponsored research teams. Their assessments of the impact of the yuan's appreciation on China's employment situation will factor into world of warcraft power leveling, the country's decision-making process on adjusting its currency policy. The result of these world of warcraft power leveling assessments is hard to predict now, but there is no doubt that domestic employment cannot afford a sharp currency appreciation, not to mention the 20 to 40 percent rise that the New York Times columnist Paul Krugman would like to see. It is estimated that a sudden 3 percent rise in the yuan's value would have serious implications for employment, especially in labor-intensive industries. For world of warcraft gold, the textile industry alone, it would mean a loss of at least 25 million job opportunities. Should China do world of warcraft gold as Krugman suggests, the impact would be disastrous for the Chinese people. With 6.3 million new college graduates seeking jobs this year, and an estimated total of 225 million migrant workers in the job market, the task of safeguarding job seekers' interests maple story mesos could be even tougher for the Chinese government. The risks arising from a dramatic change in the yuan's value would have political, economic and social ramifications that could by no means maple story mesos, be ignored. In the post-financial crisis world, fostering employment growth is every government's priority. The ultimate solution to employment lies in each government's down-to-earth efforts, and not in the blame game currently being played by some US politicians. At one point, the financial World of warcraft gold, crisis resulted in 7.5 percent of small- and mid-sized enterprises closing World of warcraft gold and as many as 20 million migrant workers losing their jobs in China. The various measures taken by the Chinese government, including increasing infrastructure investment, boosting domestic demand and adjusting world of warcraft gold, industry structures, have proved effective in creating jobs. A similar rule may apply to the US. The root world of warcraft gold cause of the "jobless recovery" the US is suffering lies in the fundamental flaws in its economic structure. Only with serious reflection and corresponding corrections can employment be pulled out of its current stagnation. Chinese job seekers' wedding dresses, interests are no less important than those of Americans. The US squeezing of the yuan will strangle Chinese jobs. Neither the Chinese people wedding dresses nor China's government will accept that. Making a humble effort to find the real root cause of unemployment is the only option available to any government that truly wishes to be accountable to its people.

China concerned by Iran, yet to back sanctions
Posted On 03/20/2010 02:42:10

China concerned by Iran, yet to back sanctions China expressed concern Thursday over the development of Iran's nuclear issue, saying the door of diplomacy is still open while facing mounting demands from Western powers to push for new sanctions on Tehran. "China has concerns about the development of Iran's nuclear issue," said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang in a regular press conference Thursday. "Dialogue and negotiation through diplomatic means is the best way to seek a proper solution to the problem." Russia, the United States, wow power leveling, France, Britain, China and Germany have been putting pressure on Iran over its nuclear program, amid fears that Tehran is trying to build a nuclear weapon. Of the six countries, wow power leveling China continues to resist imposing fresh sanctions while Moscow slowly appears to be coming over to the other countries' tougher stance on the issue. However, China is now facing more and more pressure from various sides on pushing the new sanctions. Canada, fast wow gold, which chairs the Group of Eight leading industrialized nations, called on China on Wednesday to put more pressure on Iran to curb its nuclear ambitions. "There comes a point fast wow gold beyond which there needs to be action, there needs to be engagement," Canadian Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon told Reuters in an interview. "There doesn't seem to be, on behalf of the Iranians, a level of cooperation that would (lead us) to say the diplomatic venue is the correct one to follow. So therefore I would seriously believe that China could play a leadership role here." The US is also pushing "aggressive sanctions" to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. US President Barack wedding dresses, Obama said in an interview on Fox News on Wednesday that the US is going after sanctions because "the Iranian government has been more concerned about wedding dresses preventing their people from exercising their democratic and human rights than trying to solve this problem diplomatically." US Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman also said that the US looks to China to support strong sanctions in a speech at Tsinghua University Thursday. The Times of London reported meanwhile that there is speculation that Iran has been delivering tons of weaponry to the Taliban. The reports come as cheap aion kinah, General David Petraeus, the head of US Central Command, warned the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that Iran also provided a base cheap aion kinah for Al Qaeda operatives. According to He Yafei, China's ambassador to the United Nations Office in Geneva, China has been talking to Iran constantly and urging the country to agree to a proposal by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as a first step to solving the nuclear issue. But he also emphasized Beijing wants "every avenue" explored before considering sanctions. "On the Iran issue, China has its own interests and principles, and now China cannot and will not blindly defend Iran, but cannot and will not give up its own standpoints either. Now China is facing pressure from many sides, and is also becoming more and more crucial to maple story mesos, the development of the situation. How to handle this is a test of the wisdom of China's diplomacy," said Ni Feng, maple story mesos a researcher at the Insti-tute of American Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Meanwhile, Scottish newspaper The Herald said Wednesday that hundreds of powerful US "bunker-buster" bombs are being shipped from California to the British island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean ahead of a possible attack on Iran. It also quoted experts as saying that the bombs are being put in place for an assault on Iran's nuclear facilities.

'China model' result of determined leadership
Posted On 03/20/2010 02:40:05

By now, China's economic success over the last 30 years is an accepted fact and does not need the citing of statistics. But what are the main characteristics of the Chinese development model, and is it sustainable? It is not possible to define the Chinese development model in simple terms. It is really a process rather than a clear policy statement. Its origins lie with Deng Xiaoping, who famously said that one must "seek truth from facts" (and not from dogma) and that "It doesn't matter if a cat is black or white, so long as it catches mice." World of Warcraft power leveling, The model is unique, and has been developed in a country with a long history of civilization, a very difficult modernization experience and the largest population in the world. The key features are pragmatism, World of Warcraft power leveling trial and error and gradual reform. The model is not based on ideology but practical steps, first testing the effectiveness of policies and then, when proven, implementing at a fast rate. However, overall the reforms are in fact gradual without any "big bangs." First came wow gold, the easy reforms and rural reforms; difficult reforms and urban reforms followed. Experiences in implementing wow gold the first reforms helped create the necessary conditions for further reform. Labels do not help satisfactorily describe the model, which the Chinese say is based on socialism with Chinese characteristics. It can be described as a mixed economy with socialist and capitalist features or, less flatteringly, autocratic capitalism. The model replica rolex, has a number of key characteristics. The State controls the strategic direction of the economy and therefore its strategic sectors. The State-owned enterprises replica rolex still dominate industry. The government can thus set and direct its eco-nomic priorities. From the outset, foreign direct investment was encouraged, as was the education abroad of young Chinese at foreign universities, particularly in science and technology. These thousands of students put to good use their acquired knowledge back in China. Successive generations of leaders have been able to ensure continued public support for modernization and, at the same time, macroeconomic stability. Beijing has succeeded in adapting its institutions and managing huge and fast chang-es. The Chinese model has delivered several hundred million people out of poverty. This model, despite its shortcomings, has been more effective than, replica rolex, say, the exported American model based on ideology replica rolex and democratization, with scant attention to local circumstances. Without the rule of law, a better educated people and a substantial middle class, premature democratization can have adverse consequences. The Chinese development model now faces three major challenges: correcting its uneven development, coping with the unsustainability of export-led growth, and handling the value of the yuan. The 10th National People's Congress in 2004 recognized that too great an emphasis was placed on GDP growth and a more "people-oriented" approach was needed. However, the difference in economic development since then has not been noticeable. Regarding the second challenge, Final Fantasy XI GIL, China relies massively on exports to achieve its growth. The US trade deficit has continued to rise ($378 billion in 2009 while the EU deficit was $169), as do the Chinese currency reserves ($2.273 trillion at the end of February 2010). Thus, China is lending Final Fantasy XI GIL the US money to buy its exports. This situation is not sustainable and indeed is dangerous. There is broad agreement that it is in China's own interests to promote consumer spending so as to produce domestic demand-led growth. The huge incentive package is being spent mainly by State-owned enterprises and on infrastructure projects. While spending has increased, in the absence of a comprehensive welfare system, the Chinese remain big savers. Calls for a revaluation of the yuan are again getting louder. The continued pegging of the yuan to the dollar upsets both the Americans and the Europeans Discussions of "models'" is somewhat artificial. Historically a model marked by clear goals and ruthless pragmatism usually succeeds because of the determination of political leadership. Examples are Charles de Gaulle in France after 1958, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry in post-war Japan and, of course, aion kinah, Deng Xiaoping 30 years ago. Success generates domestic aion kinah legitimacy and external challenge, but at the potential cost of both corruption and excessive reliance on exports. RMB stress test raises export concerns
Posted On 03/20/2010 02:37:21

More than 1,000 Chinese companies are carrying out stress tests to gauge the effect of yuan appreciation, and machinery and electronic industries will be affected most, Zhang Wei, deputy chairman of the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), said Thursday. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the CCOIC are con-ducting stress tests on over 1,000 large and small companies in 12 industries, and the results will be released before April 27, serving as a reference for the Fourth Chinese Enterprises Outbound Investment Conference, Zhang said on the sidelines of a press conference held in Beijing. Initial results from the tests show that the machinery wow power leveling and electronic industries will be most affected by any wow power leveling appreciation of the yuan. "Machinery and electronic companies currently hold export orders worth $150 billion. If the yuan rises by 3 percent, the industry will lose 30 billion yuan ($4.4 billion)," he said. Machinery and electronic products export values comprised 58.3 percent of the coun-try's total export values in the first two months of 2010, and they surged 32.2 percent year-on-year to $119 billion, according to figures from the General Administration of Customs. "The positive figures do not imply replica rolex, a total recovery of foreign demand, as exporters got more short-term orders than long-term ones," Zhang said. Zhang also said replica rolex companies in labor-intensive industries such as textiles and furniture manufacturers would face bankruptcy, due to net profit margins as low as 3 percent. If the yuan appreciates by 1 percent, labor-intensive exporters will lose 1 percent of their profit margin, according to tests conducted by the Ministry replica rolex, of Commerce and the Ministry of Industry and replica rolex Information Technology last month. "Even if the yuan has a slight appreciation, it will be a fatal disaster for these companies," he said. With optimistic export figures released in the past two months, the yuan faces increasing appreciation pressure from the United States. Zhang said compared wow gold, with pressure from overseas, the authorities face more domestic pressure from a large number of exporters, which oppose any appreciation of the yuan. Earlier this month, the China Chamber of wow gold Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products called for a stable yuan exchange rate, or a 1 percent appreciation at most. Zhang said exporters have already done something to mitigate the potential risks of the yuan's appreciation, such as focusing on exports to South Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. However, Zhang said maple story mesos, the appreciation of the yuan should not be hastened, in order to give companies more time to get prepared. The chamber also suggests maple story mesos firms invest overseas as a way to relieve the yuan pressure. "We will help more private companies go abroad and do business this year," he said.

Drought worsens as millions wait for rain
Posted On 03/20/2010 02:34:36

The worst drought in a century has turned much of southern China into parched fields and dry rice paddies, with no tap water for thirsty villagers; riverboat tourism cut in half, and cracks in an airport runway threatening passenger safety. After several weeks with hardly a drop of rain, the drought is affecting millions of people in the provinces of Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Chongqing, which represent 83 percent of drought-stricken areas in the entire nation. The latest statistics from the office of the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquar-ters showed that 20.43 million people and 6.45 million hectares of farmland are affected. Zhang Yi, a member of a drought wow power leveling, control expert team organized by the Ministry of Agriculture to help the provinces, told the People's Daily Thursday that the drought wow power leveling will reduce by one half the spring wheat harvest. "The drought is far beyond my expectation when I arrived in Yunnan on March 5 and inspected some counties," said Zhang. "We estimate the economic loss of crops for Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi will hit 10.92 billion yuan ($1.6 billion) this year." In addition, the drought also posed a threat to aviation safety and tourism development. At Kunming Wujiaba International Airport, Yunnan, three broken concrete slabs were found on the runway because of a drop in groundwater. A five-day repair program has been underway since Tuesday, and up to 50 flights a day were unable to land. In South China's ffxi gil, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the most popular tourist attrac-tion, the Lijiang River, is suffering from the lowest water level in recent memory, forcing tourism companies to cancel more than ffxi gil half of regular sightseeing boat rides on the river, China National Radio said Thursday. The National Meteorological Center published a drought alert at 6 pm Wednesday, indicating that there will not be enough rain to help the drought region over the next three days, and water shortages may worsen in the provinces. Limited rainfall in a large area is expected from next Monday to Thursday in Gui-zhou Province but it may not help the drought much, CCTV reported Thursday. In efforts to help cheap aion kinah, resolve a drinking water crisis, the Ministry of Water Resources and State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters held emergency meetings to help drought-stricken provinces carry out detailed water supply plans and water cheap aion kinah resource management. The Ministry of Finance has allocated 155 million yuan ($22.7 million) to help the drought control project. Heavy rainfall is not predicted for Chongqing until mid April. Meanwhile, 144 aircraft guns and 66 artillery rocket launchers have been moved to more than 20 counties and districts, prepared to shoot chemical pellets into the clouds and stimulate artificial rainfall. The major obstacles wedding dresses, in drought relief are believed to be limited funds for drought control, water shortages for agriculture and wedding dresses the uncertainty of climate change, said Zhang. Zhang suggests wedding dresses, the government invest more money to promote drought-resistant agri-cultural techniques over larger areas before wedding dresses drought conditions arise.
